Working with Symbols: Pamona and the Pentagram

The spirit world doesn’t speak with words but symbols. Symbols are inherently mysterious; their meanings are both veiled and illuminated through our creative work.

Symbols can be sensory or supernatural; they can represent objects, names, colors, or directions on our compass. Sometimes, we refer to symbols as correspondences. Heinrich Zimmer described symbols as words and concepts, “just as visions, rituals, and images are; so too are the manners and customs of daily life. Through all of these, a transcendent reality is mirrored…Symbols hold the mind to truth but are not themselves the truth, hence, it is delusory to borrow them. Each civilization, every age, must bring forth its own."

Jjoin us in Pomona’s symbolic orchards!  Pomona is the Roman goddess of knowledge, creation, and fruition. Cloaked in apple skins and trailing sacred stars, Pomona introduces us to the pentagram and guides us through a harvestime writing ritual. Together, we’ll consider the goddess’s story and symbols while crafting our own.Thursday, August 6th at 12 pm EST via Zoom. Members can join live, otherwise a recording will be available after the session.
