Working with Symbols: Pomona and the Pentagram

Taught by Kristin Lisenby, @eastandalchemy

An apple, a star, a ripening orchard: symbols give us ways to explore meaning through story, ritual, and creative work. Pomona, the Roman goddess of orchards and fruit, offers a starting point for considering what we cultivate and bring to fruition. In this class, Kristin guides you through Pomona’s story and her connection to the apple and the pentagram.

You’ll explore how symbols and correspondences work in magical practice, considering both inherited meanings and the associations you discover for yourself. Then we write: following a harvesttime writing ritual inspired by Pomona’s symbolic orchards, while making room for your own images and meanings to emerge.

Includes:

• A 60 Minute Class Recording

You’ll leave with:

• An introduction to Pomona’s story and symbolism

• An exploration of the apple and pentagram in this practice

• A harvesttime writing ritual for developing your own symbolic language

Bring a pen, paper, and an openness to the images and associations that arise as you write.
